Clerodendrus splendens (Family- Verbanaceae) is a perennial shrub commonly known as Flaming glorybower. It is a well-known plant in Ghanaian folklore medicine. It is the plant of tropical and subtropical regions. Plant part such as leaves, roots, flowers and stems are reported for possessing activities like skin infections, immunomodulation, anti-microbial, antioxidant, anti-histaminic, antipyretic and in wound healing. C. splendens showed presence of sterols, tannins, flavonoids and diterpenoids. In the present review attempts have been made to present comprehensive information of traditional uses, phytochemistry and pharmacological activities of Clerodendrum splendens.
